DAY 1 - OVERALL SHOOT PLAN

Based on ATM’s developed ideas for our music video, we have decided to split the filming of our music video intro three days. This first day is set out for filming the ATM introduction scene, as well as the various scenes where we plan to show three young women outdoors, roaming around iconic locations in West London, during Christmas time. This shoot heavily carries the narrative aspect of the music video, and it is where masked guys will appear, in five different locations. The image below shows the various elements that we will have to film for our music video, highlighting what we will be filming for day 1, which is, the five masked guy appearances, the girls roaming around, the ATM introduction scene, as well as a time lapse of one of the girls for the ending of the music video.

Below is a breakdown of the planned music video that I have put together to aid with the organisation of the separate shoots. I have used project markers and timers to plan how I and my group will separate the different elements of our music video that we will be filming. The titles that state girls outside having fun, is where the footage of Day 1, is planned to be edited into. Additionally, the reference video I’ve created, starts off by indicating the end of the ATM scene will be shown, as this scene is what starts the music track, and therefore takes place slightly before where this reference video starts.

Below this stretch of text is the planning notes page that I have put together, regarding what we need to cover for this shoot. It begins by listing all of the props that we may be using, and then has notes on the costumes for each cast member or character. This is followed by a list of shots and locations where we plan for events to unfold for the young women, based on the location scouting we carried out, which can be found by clicking here. This notes page was filled out by me as we progressed through our planning stages for Day 1. The Day 2 shoot will be planned after we finish filming Day 1, allowing us to entirely concentrate in planning for this shoot as effectively as we can. Likewise, Day 3 will be planned after the filming of the Day 2 shoot.

By concentrating at one shoot at a time, I feel that we will be able to intensively plan for the shoot, by creating detailed shot lists and storyboards, allowing our filming process to be as smooth as possible. Additionally, after each shoot, we will be able to learn about what went well and what we can improve, to strengthen the effectiveness of our next shoot.
