DAY 1 - CASTING & STAR IMAGE DEVELOPMENT

Our music video is planned to revolve around three girls, and the appearance and disappearance of masked guys. Since there is only one masked guy appearance for each location, we will be playing the masked guys ourselves, rather than casting additional people, allowing the shoot to be more efficient. This shoot focuses on the three girls roaming around West London, having fun during Christmas time. The main reasons for casting these three girls, shown in the photos below, is that they all have some sort of Dance experience, or are just good at dancing, which is pretty much a requirement for this music video, as there will be scenes where dancing is involved.

Another reason is that the girls are actual friends in real life, meaning that they won’t be forced to act as if they know each other; instead we believe that their emotions will better flourish, as a result of them growing up knowing each other for a long time. Furthermore, the three girls fit into the ‘Forever Young’ element that we are going for in our music video, through them actually being quite young, and independent women, as well as them having a trendy fashion sense, which will be useful for the music video.

With all of this planned, I feel that we are developing our Star Image, as Danella is planned to wear quite trendy clothing, with two trendy friends with her. Danella’s makeup, as well as her friends, will be at their discretion, and is not a major factor for the shoot. The costume accounts for that fact that it is very cold outside, and as a result, the girls will be instructed to wrap up warm. This supports the music video, as accessories such as gloves or scarfs will indicate the season to the audience, as well as the scenery, further pushing the Christmas element that we are going for. Although we are not entirely close with the girls, and are just beginning our friendship, I feel that this could work out, and that the experience will be fun, enjoyable and worthwhile for them, just as much as it will be for us.

Danella fits the young and trendy vibe that we are looking for in our music video. She also sings, and can dance. This means that she should have some confidence in front of a camera, as well as being able to dance for the required dancing scenes. Danella will be the main character for our music video, playing herself, as an artist, which we will be featuring in the track that we are using.

Danella

Nneka is a friend of Danella, who can dance and doesn’t seem afraid to act in front of a camera. Nneka will be one of Danella’s two friends in the music video, who will be outdoors with her, having ‘girly’ fun throughout West London. Nneka and Shantelle was recommended to be in the music video by Danella, meaning that they all get along and would be happy spending a lot of time with each other.

Shantelle

Shantelle is also a friend of Danella, with immaculate dance experience. Not only has she studied Dance within the school, she partakes in Dance classes in her own time, making her the ideal casting for a House and Dance music video. With this in mind, Shantelle will also be able to aid with choreographing for the dance scenes in the music video.
