In order to undergo the full process a production company would have to go through, in terms of obtaining permission or a licence to use a track for a music video, we will be contacting Lucas and Steve’s management to ask for permission to use their track, as part of a student project. This will mean that, if we are given permission to use the track, no copyright infringement issues should arise, as the band’s management have allowed for our footage to go with their track and uploaded onto an online video platform, such as YouTube.

 

Even if the band or management do not reply, or do not grant us permission, we will still be using their track for our music video. This is because the track is a remix of another song anyway, meaning that Lucas and Steve or their management does not have the full intellectual rights to the track, and instead ‘Ruffneck’ do. Additionally, this is an educational and not commercial project, meaning that no issues should arise with us using the song for our coursework project.
