MARK KAMARA - A2 MEDIA PORTFOLIO
DAY 3 - OVERALL SHOOT PLAN
At this point we have now filmed nearly all of our shoots, which I believe have all gone really well. The previous shoot we did was the Contingency Scene, where the production page for this can be found by clicking here. Day 1 was set before Christmas, as we required the scenery to be Christmassy, however Day 2 was filmed in February, and so Day 3 can be filmed at any time, as it doesn’t hold any giveaways for the audience that it is not Christmas time. Like previously discussed, we have decided to split our music video into three shoots, on three different days, with the addition of the contingency shoot, we just filmed. This shoot is the performance aspect of the music video, in which we plan to all feature in the music video, playing our specialist instruments, with Danella, being the lead vocalist. The photo below shows all the elements that we wish to include into our music video, as well as what we have filmed (red), and what we will be filming for this shoot (blue).
Below is the breakdown of the planned music video that I have put together to aid with the organisation of the separate shoots. I have used project markers and timers to plan how I and my group will separate the different elements of our music video that we will be filming. The footage for this shoot is scattered into four appearances in the reference video, ending just before the escalation and dance off scene, filmed in our Day 2 shoot. The ‘Performance Hall Scene’ titles, that appear at 0:23, 1:10 & 1:56 account for the planned space that our edited footage would be synchronised, and then placed in.
To aid with the synchronisation of what we plan to film on the day, with the actual track that we will be using for the music video, as well us to make sure that we only film for the sections that we need for the video, I have created short Audio snippets from the song. I have also included a metronome sound, which plays four times before the section that we plan to film for, as a count it, and four times at the end, signifying that the shot would be completed. We plan to play these snippets out loud during the shoot, so that everyone could be in sync with the music. Embedded below are the Audio clips I’ve created, click on the corresponding ‘Play’ icon to listen to them.

Like for all of the earlier shoots, I have created a planning notes page, which can be seen below, regarding what we need to cover for this shoot. It begins by listing all the props that we may be using, and then has notes on the costumes for each cast member or character. This is followed by a list of scenes and key events which we feel that we need to implement into this shoot. Just like the previous shoots, this notes page was filled out by me as we progressed through our planning stages for each shoot, which I felt allowed us to entirely concentrate in planning for a single shoot as effectively as we can.

Based on the planning that we did for all the previous shoots, and the amazing outcome of what we had filmed, I feel that it was a good idea to plan for one shoot at a time, again through creating detailed shot lists, and storyboards to compliment this, to allow for the filming process to be as smooth as it can be. Moreover, we are now able to reflect on all of our previous shoots and think about what went well, and what we feel that we could improve for this last shoot. In the first and second shoot we were able to have a friend, called Rene with us, to aided guard our equipment, and helped us to carry stuff from location to location. He can also help us with this shoot, with Jamila, who was incredibly helpful in our Day 2 shoot. These two people will be our runners for this shoot, and will help us immensely to stay organised, and be aware of our equipment. Additionally, they may be asked to film for us at times, as we have planned for some shots where we are all in shot, meaning that Amid, Trenay or I would not be able to man the camera at this given point.
