DAY 1 - PROP LIST

Props are also vital for our music video. Day 1 consists of masked guy appearances, and so we will definitely need white masks for this. Props can also help to create a theme, or give something the characters to do, rather than just being in a location, doing nothing. The major props will be included into the storyboards, which will highlight when it will be needed, during the shoot. Below is the prop section of the overall shoot plan, which shows all the props that we plan to use for this shoot.

Boombox – The Boombox will be used by Amid, who will be playing a busker, dancing to music in one of the locations. The Boombox is a prop associated to Dance and House music, as this was major fashion in the 90’s. The Boombox will also feature our band logo on it, being another way that we are implementing our branding and style through the music video.

White Masks – The white masks will be worn by Amid and Trenay who will be playing as the masked guys, when they randomly appear, as well as Danella, for the time lapse we plan to film of her. This is a very important prop, as it is vital for telling our story, and without it, there is not much we will be able to do, in terms of showing entities appearing, without an identity.

These props will aid with the storytelling of our music video, and can all be packed into a duffel bag, to be carried from place to place, during the shoot. The most important prop will be the white mask, as Amid and Trenay will need to wear it when they are playing as a masked guy. The other props will be used according to location, and strengthen the theme of Christmas, which is what we have planned for, for our music video.

Christmas Crackers – Christmas Crackers are an ideal prop for highlighting that the music video is set around Christmas time, as it is a traditional item used for this occasion. It also gives the girls something fun to do at a desired location, further communicating to the audience that they are outdoors, freely and enjoying themselves.

Phone – A phone for taking selfies will be used as one of our planned way to show a masked guy appearing and disappearing, almost making the girls seem as if they have been hallucinating the appearances all along. Selfies are also incredibly popular with young people, especially when they are having fun, and so further highlights this aspect of the music video.

Glowy Sticks – Glowy sticks are common in clubs and dark spaces, with a party element, as a result we feel that during our shots at night time, glowy sticks can be used to show the freedom of characters, or again highlight that they are having fun, doing whatever that they are doing.

Sparklers – Sparklers has a question mark next to it, as it would be a desirable prop to use, but may be problematic using it in our desired locations. The sparklers could also show the girls being free and having fun. During the shoot, we aim to bring sparklers with us, in case we find an open space, where we feel it is suitable to use them.

White Gloves for Masked Guys – The white gloves aid the masked guys in hiding their identity within the music video. White gloves are also commonly linked to magic, and this is an element which the masked guys could be described to have, as they are constantly appearing and disappearing, when the girls look away in a very short space of time.
