OVERALL PLAN FOR TIME LAPSES

As part of our music video, in which we plan to have narrative, band performance and dance elements, we also plan to integrate time lapses. Time lapses are a key device in showing the passing of time, and are a very beautiful way of doing so. With this in mind, we are also including time lapses in our music video to act as transitions. This will remove the need for using pre-set video transitions, which would normally be used to pass from one clip to another, without much creativity, or without strengthening the meaning of the different clips being put side by side. However, I feel that with the use time lapses we will be able to take the audience from one clip to another in an interesting an engaging way, that I feel we would otherwise not be able to achieve.

As mentioned in the branding and style development page, I feel that time lapses are not very common in House and Dance music videos, making it an original element, strengthening the music video as a whole. Also, time lapses could become the signature element of our music video, making it stand out from conventional videos out there. I look forward to filming the time lapses with the rest of my group, and it should be an interesting process, as it is not something we have spent a lot of time doing in this project, so far.
